The three-year-old son of a man who died in a three-car crash in downtown Des Moines has also died from his injuries, Sgt. Paul Parizek, a spokesman for Des Moines Police confirmed Thursday.

The car in the background of this photo, where the police officer with yellow clothing is investigating, crashed into two other vehicles before coming to a rest in that parking lot at Southwest Second Avenue and West Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway on Nov. 22, 2016.

Soh Reh, 46, crashed on West Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway around 10:35 a.m. Nov. 22 while driving with his son. Reh died as a result of his injuries and his child was taken to a local hospital for treatment, but died nine days later.

Police say Reh was traveling west on West MLK at excessive speeds when he rear-ended a red pickup. The car continued west and struck a delivery truck, which was northbound on Southwest Second. Then the car crashed in a nearby parking lot, Parizek said.
