Sure, people say they go to the Iowa State Fair for the music, exhibits and big boars, but who are we kidding. The food is probably the biggest draw.

On Wednesday, the State Fair announced the new items you'll be able to get while wandering from the boar barn to the beer tents and back. Don't worry, some of them are available on sticks.

Fair organizers asked concessionaires to submit a value-priced item for $3 or less. The food entries were judged, and these are the finalists. Fairgoers will be able to vote for their favorite, and the winning item will be announced during the fair, Aug. 7-17.

The Brownie Blitz: Cream cheese, brownie bits, whipped cream, chocolate syrup and coconut.

Caprese salad on a stick: A skewer of cherry tomatoes, fresh basil, mozzarella cheese and balsamic vinaigrette.

Smoked brisket and bacon mac n cheese: Chunks of smoked brisket and applewood-smoked bacon, tossed with pasta in a three-cheese sauce.

The Three Buck Bowl: Two crispy potato skins filled with scrambled eggs, fresh salsa and shredded cheddar cheese.

Funnel cake sticks: Made with vanilla, chocolate or strawberry funnel cake batter, served on a stick and topped with icing.

Zombie Cones: Sour cherry, blueberry, grape, orange, lime or bubble gum flavors and topped with a gummy eyeball or sour worm.

Jumbo toasted marshmallows on a stick: Available in vanilla bean, caramel, chocolate or maple bacon varieties.
