Scooter's opens coffee kiosks

Two drive-thru only Scooter’s coffee shops have opened in the metro.

The coffee kiosk at 7500 Hickman Road in Windsor Heights opened this week in a newly constructed 450-square-foot building in the parking lot of Sherwood Forest retail center. The grand opening Friday will offer $1 medium drinks all day. Beginning at 9 a.m., the first 100 customers will receive a T-shirt or coffee mug. At 2 p.m., $5 gift cards will be given to the first 100 customers. There also will be special drink prices the following week.

Brothers Stephen and David Froscheiser own this location. The brothers operate other Scooter's coffee shops in the Des Moines area.

A second Scooter’s coffee kiosk opened last month in Pleasant Hill. The owner of the store at 1225 Copper Creek Drive is Gary Gilbody.

The kiosks offer coffee, blended drinks, smoothies, pastries, breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burritos.

The kiosks are open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
