Mini doughnuts coming to West Des Moines mall

A mini doughnut stand will open at Jordan Creek Town Center at the end of October.

Mahalo's Mini Donuts will sit on the upper level between the food court and the movie theaters, said Julie Nitchie, who will own the kiosk with partner Troy Schall.

The shop will offer fried mini doughnuts with a variety of toppings and glazes that will all be made fresh with equipment similar to that used at fairs, Nitchie said. Along with classic cinnamon sugar and powdered sugar doughnuts, there will be glazes like caramel, maple, honey, marshmallow, orange, strawberry and others. Toppings include infused sugars, brown sugar, graham crackers, coconut, sea salt, bacon and pecans.

Prices will be $3.59 for 6 of the classics, $5.49 for a dozen and $9.49 for two dozen of the classic doughnuts. The glazed and topped doughnuts will range from $4.49 for half a dozen to $13.49 for two dozen.
