Crème Cupcake owner to lead mid-Iowa small business group

The owner of Crème Cupcake + Dessert is taking on a new role.

Christina Moffatt will become the Mid-Iowa Regional Director of the Iowa Small Business Development Center early next year, the bakery said in a statement.

Moffatt will oversee Polk, Dallas, Warren, Jasper and Marion counties in her new role. She will start Jan. 20, 2015.

The Small Business Development Center works with entrepreneurs, startups and small businesses to help them develop their companies.

“As I transition to a new chapter, I am elated to offer similar help for fellow entrepreneurs seeking to achieve their own dreams,” Moffatt said in the statement.

Moffatt’s new role won’t change day-to-day operations of the Des Moines bakery, according to the statement.
