A sleeping Iowa State University student rolled out of her window and fell three stories early Thursday morning, police say.

Lt. Elliott Florer with ISU police said a woman living in the Frederiksen Court apartments, part of the university housing system, called 911 around 3 a.m. after hearing someone calling for help outside her building.

An injured but conscious female student was on the ground outside. She had somehow fallen through her screened window from her lofted bed while she was sleeping, Florer said. The bed was apparently placed right in front of the window.

It appears it was an accident, Florer said, and no alcohol or drugs were involved.

"She was sleeping and must have rolled out. But we can't confirm anything until we talk to her again," Florer said.

But the student was taken to Mary Greeley Medical Center for some injuries.
