West Des Moines police have seized what they call a “vehicle of interest” in their investigation of a fatal hit-and-run.

Daulton Holly, 21, was found by a passerby shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday in the 6400 block of Raccoon River Drive. Police said Holly was struck by a vehicle.

Police said they are conducting forensic testing, as well as witness interviews, as they continue their investigation, according to a news release. They still seek information from the public on the case.

Information released Monday said police were looking for a newer truck or SUV that is dark in color. The vehicle would likely have front-end damage and be missing plastic molding on the front and undercarriage.

Police have had little to go on in the investigation and have previously said there was no video of — or witnesses to — the crash.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Polk County Crime Stoppers at 515-223-1400.
