A Des Moines man was injured Tuesday after four masked men with a gun broke into his home, according to a police report.

At about 4 p.m., Des Moines police received a report of a home invasion and robbery in the 1300 block of 32nd Street, just west of Drake University, the report said.

The 20-year-old victim told police he had heard someone open the back door of the house, and when he went to see who was there, he found four men wearing dark clothes and masks over their faces, according to the report.

One of the suspects pointed a black handgun at the victim and told him to get on the ground, the report said. A witness, who also lives in the 32nd Street home, told police the victim tried to fight the four suspects.

The man with the handgun used the gun to hit the back of the victim's head, according to the report. Police later could see a cut on the back of the victim's head.

After the fight, all four suspects stole several electronics from the home, the report said. The total value of items stolen was estimated at more than $1,500.

The suspects then ran out of the home, according to the report.

No suspects have been identified.
