Fran Fraschilla was right this week when he told The Register that all Georges Niang needed was an opportunity to showcase his skills during an actual game.

That’s exactly what happened during the 5-on-5 portion of the NBA Combine Thursday in Chicago — when the former Iowa State All-American scored 20 points in 20 minutes.

“Georges’ best bet is to play in the 5-on-5,” Fraschilla, an ESPN college basketball analyst, said this week. “Get him on the court in a game-like situation, see him actually doing those post moves that he does so well against a defender.”

Georges Niang had 20 points in 20 minutes on Thursday.

Mission accomplished.

“Everyone’s doubted me for as long as I can remember,” Niang said during a phone conversation last week with The Register. “Just give me a chance; that’s all I’m looking for. Talk to me. See what I’m about.”
