The top two defensive ends on Iowa's depth chart will be seniors this fall, so conventional wisdom suggests it's a target position for the Hawkeyes with their 2016 recruiting class.

The Hawkeyes crossed off at least part of their defensive end shopping with one stop Monday when they landed commitments from Detroit East English Village High School teammates Chauncey Golston and Cedrick Lattimore.

"Shout out to the Twin Towers of The Ville Chauncey Golston & Cedrick Lattimore on their commitment to the University of Iowa. Go Hawkeyes!!! Tradition Never Graduates," East English Village coach Rod Oden wrote on Facebook.

Iowa signed defensive ends Anthony Nelson, Brady Reiff and Michael Slater in February to help replenish the depth chart at the position. Seniors Drew Ott and Nate Meier are backed up by redshirt freshman Matt Nelson.

Golston checks in at 6-foot-5 and 235 pounds. Iowa was the first school to offer him a scholarship.

Lattimore is 6-5 and 242 pounds. He carried offers from Ball State, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Miami of Ohio and Toledo before he picked the Hawkeyes.

Golston and Lattimore are believed to be the third and fourth players to commit to Iowa's 2016 recruiting class and the first two defensive players. The first two commitments came from Wisconsin — quarterback Nathan Stanley and running back Toren Young.
