Valley senior’s photo earns national honor

Wil Abeling, a senior at Valley High School, had a photo selected for honorable mention in the National Wildlife Federations annual wildlife/nature photo contest.

The photo titled “Eyes on Orion” was taken at Badger Creek Park last spring as an assignment for Tory DeVries’ digital photography class. It was selected from more than 29,000 photos entered in the contest. Abeling was the only photographer from Iowa to be recognized.

This is the 44th year for the National Wildlife photography contest.
